I knew Ed for the seven years I have worked at Maven. Although our work rarely overlapped; I got to know Ed far more when I worked in the Chicago office. I'd often speak with him in the kitchen and over a beer after work. We had lunch with Ed most days, he would always have interesting topics and points to talk about. He was very dedicated to his work, so much so that we had to ban him from "work talk" at the lunch table! However hard we tried to enforce this; 5 minutes later he'd be talking about some code, database, process he was passionate about. I think in the end we gave up trying. The office won't be the same without him and his enthusiastic outbursts. Very sad to see him go.
