Man, I was crying on and off this morning after receiving the news. Ed was a patient with us in Physical Therapy, and one of my favorite ones. Ed came in every day with a smile on his face and a cheery, polite demeanor. I'm one of the front office staff, but he would always make conversation with me before starting his session, like we were friends catching up daily, and he would share with me too. I remember him telling me about a weekend he spent with family out of town and the way he described it was they were in the forest picking a Christmas tree, and the snow was falling, and the kids were playing in it and that stuck with me because I told him it sounded like a Hallmark Movie. Ed was so patient and determined, he was flexible with scheduling and was always here to put in the work. But by reading all the stories about him and seeing his accomplishments, I know now that in a short time we were privy to the character of this gentle soul for a time, and thankfully so. I'll be praying for the family, and the loved ones with sorrowful hearts in this tragic loss.
